Do you want to win the World Cup? Stay away from Premiership!

Do you want to be succesful on international level, do not cross this gate!

That’s true – if you want to achieve anything in World Cup you should keep your players as far from English Premiership as possible.

English Premiership is the best, the richest football league ever.

But clubs there play so many games on high level, that players never have chance to build form for one event as World Cup. Every game is Premiership is important. When players played 60+ games a year the injuries  are inevitable but never they have time to treat it properly because next important game is in 3 days.  And club’s coaches hate national teams for stealing their players and sending back with injuries, they forget that number of games in the league is the main reason for the injuries.

All English players are playing in Premiership and we have seen how slow they were. Of course those who could make it to the World Cup and didn’t catch a injury. I think it is hang over after such dramatic season.

Now let’s look at the finalists: how many players we have there from Premiership?

Uruguay, small country sensation: none.

Germany fresh, creative, sparkling team: none.

Spain, the best team in the world: Torres, Fabregas and Reina (all on the bench though)

Netherlands: Kuyt, de Jong, Persie and Babbel (Kuyt and de Jong had incredible stamina, Persie doesn’t shine and Babbel is on the bench).

So to summarize: Only 7 for 92 players of the top four world’s teams play in Premiership and only 2 managed to starting line up. It is not so much for the best and the richest football league ever.

PS  France who was the biggest disappointment of the tournament have 6 first team players from Premiership.

Rooney, the best player in teh Premiership was not visible in any from 4 World Cup games.

Should number of games for the clubs be limited in World Cup year?
